Wellsprings

A wellspring is a source of water and air found deep within the earth on moons. Maersi has a very active and plentiful one providing water for their crops. Wellsprings are shown to be able to run dry and start pushing out sand instead, like what happened at the Early Empire-Period Moon. A moon with a dried out and inactive wellspring can eventually become airless if the remaining air is somehow destroyed; the fire at the Burned Tower did just this.
